The storied Akron soccer program that plays in the Big East has what might be some kind of an odd record. Akron, which won the national championship in 2010 and has been runner-up three other times, has a 9-1-7 record at this point in the season. I'm not a big college soccer fan. However, I do watch a game every now and then, and sometimes watch the tournament, so I might be wrong about this -- but isn't 7 ties in a season very unusual? Could it be some kind of record?

It may be just me, but a sport that has that many ties needs to change the rules so that won’t happen

Seven ties is tied for second in the NCAA this season. Loyola (Md.) is 7-2-8. Akron, Michigan State and St. Francis Pa.) have seven ties. St. Francis is undefeated, yet has won just half of its matches, with a 7-0-7 record.

Hmm . . . well I guess this is more common in college soccer than I thought. Thanks for the information.
