I’m guilty of Danny Doomism this year, yet coaches are working hard with home visits.

This weekend should bring some visits to Athens and some commits.

Looks like more JUCOs this year especially on defense. They look to be decent student athletes and we need the help.

We had a commit yesterday and I expect more this weekend.

Talked with a player. Can confirm it looks like "JUCO City" for next year. Linebacker and safety seem to be an emphasis.

Saw a good safety and DE on twitter who were interested. Could see both of them with PT next year.

Can’t imagine us bringing in more linebackers unless there aren’t some things tha we don’t know about.

I’m not giving up on OUr success in the next few years. Not sure Albin will be around unless the new D
coordinator is a miracle worker.

The players we lost through the portal will hurt. The new players we bring may be just as productive….fingers and toes crossed.

CB's and Safety's for sure. Between the portal and losing seniors, those positions are looking extremely thin. Not sure about LBs though. Seem pretty solid to me if everyone comes back, especially with Keye Thompson coming back from injury.

JUCOs are nice but hope we can snag some from the transfer portal as well, so many players out there with college experience.

Also per Twitter, JUCO All American DB Tyler Mullins (Coffeyville CC) is on an official visit this weekend so we'll see what happens.

Watched his highlights the other night. He would be a nice player for us.

Two others with decent highlights and an offer from us include Cedric Hillsman and Namdi Obiazor.

Hillsman is a 250# DE and Namdi is a 6’3”-205 Safety.

Does anyone else think this is starting to look like Akron under Terry Bowden?

There have been several visits, mainly transfers and JUCOs from what I was told. Not sure why the secrecy.

Twitter has pics of a kicker….which we need….and a QB/WR duo from Dublin Jerome.

Not sure if we’ve ever had 2 QBs in one class.

They both have the size with the QB at 6’3” and the WR at 6’6”.

Actually the QB is from Dublin Coffman.

Mason Maggs only played one year at QB and is the son of a former OSU lineman.

He is a decent runner but again it seems OU QB stable is full unless someone is unhappy.

With no defensive verbals so far, you have to wonder if the defensive coach openings are affecting that. Or have the new coaches already been named, but it hasn’t been released?

. . .or are there some verbals out there we just don't know. I guess we'll know better in a couple of days.

A little bit of twitter chatter with some of this weekend’s activities. It’s been interesting looking at the resumes of some of the visitors.

Coach Metz had a couple of interesting ones on his twitter page.

David Adolph of Dublin Jerome is a 6’6” WR. Since Coach Metz is OUr TE coach maybe a few pounds makes David a red zone threat.

Jordan JJ Jones is a 6’4”-260 DL that is a PWO. His Ashland KY team had a few decent defensive players.

My guess is that this class will not meet OUr standards but will not be as bad as most predicted.

Even if the class isn’t that bad as some think it will be, the problem to me would be replacing all the transfers as well as normal graduations.
