Looks like he holds offers from Kent, Army, Navy, and Tennessee St. The article below talks about how our staff compared him to Papi White. Looks like he is scheduled to visit on Jan. 27. He seemed pretty excited when we offered him. Seems like we have a decent shot to get him.

He looks pretty good, has great hands and knows how to find holes in zones. He doesn’t have Papi’s speed, but everything else is there. I like this recruit. If we can’t beat Army out for a receiver, we really need to work on our sales pitch. Army rarely passes the ball, we should be the ideal fit.http://www.hudl.com/profile/4030243/tyler-walton

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

I just looked at his twitter account. Mr. Walton is a lot different from your normal high school football recruit, most of his post were about Biblical scriptures versus football even though he won a state championship. Walton is very grounded.and focused, You can always use a guy like this in the locker room. Go Cats

Maybe Army is telling him that he'll be the only WR they'll recruit in four years and that he'll be the target of every pass.  They may not be telling him that that'll be one pass every other game! smiley wink cool

That's pretty cool, could be a VisCom major, and if so, he couldn't have made a better decision on both fronts.

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

According to the football website, only two players signed today and Tyler wasn't one of them. Could it be he only committed, but hasn't signed? Someone please clarify.

Must be preferred walkon, not listed as part of official list just released. Maybe that will change, doubt it though.

Besides the possibility that he's a preferred walkon, which I doubt, it could be that because he signed late in the day, they haven't updated the site yet. It will no doubt be cleared up tonight. It's also possible that he hasn't fully qualified yet, in which case they won't mention him tonight.

If he’s not mentioned tonight I’d go with the non-qualifying theory.

The video seems a tad strange.

Does The Army and Air Force offer non-qualifiers?

No, I'm pretty sure Army and Air Force don't offer non-qualifiers, which make me doubt that theory. I suppose that another possibility is that he signed, but didn't get the paperwork in yet. Perhaps his parents haven't signed yet.

Other data:
1. OhioFootball tweeted "Ohio Football Completes Signing Class With Addition of Buckner and Wood". This was after the time that Walton posted his choice.
2. Arkley makes no mention of it at all:
https://mobile.twitter.com/JasonAmessenger/status/9613852...
3. Meanwhile, Brian Metz mentions Walton along with the other scholarship receivers in his tweet: "The final sheets have been signed! 🎉🎉🎉 Congrats to... 📝@DarnellGouin10 📝@shanehooks6 📝@Jr_Buck and 📝@tylerwaltonc4 ...on officially joining the @OhioFootball #FlightSchool🚁 Family! Time to RISE UP and sharpen the AxE! Go ‘Cats!"

I'm still curious how this mystery will sort itself out. I think he's going to be a player.

I’m thinking this is just a minor glitch.

A player holding multiple offers from our armed forces shouldn’t have grade problems.
