Wake gets Boise QB Hank Bachmaier. Does this mean Indiana?

I was thinking the same thing. I went into detail on this topic in a different thread, but I hope it means he goes to Indiana.

I'd like to see him find success.

I think it would look favorably upon us. At this point in the portal world, any mention, any social media is a positive. Even if it's in the form of a "stepping-stone" situation.

Not So Fun Fact: Indiana is the only Power 5 team to not win a bowl game in the 21st century.

I think this is close to my feeling as well. I tend to keep track of some Ex-MAC players as well to gauge the strength of the conference. I even kept an eye on UCLA this season to see how Schlee and Carson Steele did. I was down on the program a few years back when our two starting receivers, Cox and Hooks, transferred and ended up in FCS--and Hooks didn't even start.

I'll root for Indiana if Rourke goes there. He gave them team a couple of nice years.

Did you root for Jason Grunkemeyer at Miami?

Hooks was at Auburn this past year. Only had 8 catches.

I suspect they'll be *very* active in the portal.

They need a Deion Sanders-like overhaul.

FWIW--I dismissed that as a silly gotcha question. I am a Bobcat from the 1980s who knew when Danny Nee took off his coat, the game was getting serious; Billy Hahn's full-court press never worked, and if you asked any Athens resident who the best player on the basketball team was, they would kindly tell you it was Steve Bruening.

My interest in basketball waned during the later Hunter years and Shea years. It never fully returned. There was too much family stuff going on then. The Grobe and Solich eras were a refreshing change from the "Relieve Cleve" years and brought me back to being a football fan.

As for Grunkemeyer, I looked him up. By looking at his statistics, it doesn't seem like he played five years, won a conference Player of the Year award, had three season-ending injuries, and never bitched that they didn't modify the offense from one that favors a dual-threat QB. I also don't think he will end up with any other MAC team. I did kinda root for Sean Jackson, who transferred to Princeton in the late 80s. I woulda transferred to an Ivy League school if they would've taken me.

Wherever he lands, I wish him well in his future endeavors. I'm just not going to be as interested in what he does as I would've been had he finished at Ohio.

I'm sure I'm gonna get criticized again for following Bobcats who have moved on. The finalists for the Cornish Trophy have been announced. It honors the best Canadian in college football. Not surprisingly, Kurtis Rourke is one of the finalists. However, Jett Elad of UNLV is one of the other finalists. That name is a blast from the past.

https://www.on3.com/transfer-portal/news/kurtis-rourke-co... /

Rourke was considered a possible late-round selection in this year’s NFL draft. After visiting Bloomington, he’s now transferring to a spot where he feels like the offense can prepare him for the next level.

“I love the staff and the fact that they are winners,” he told On3. “The offense also is similar to NFL offenses. There are many other reasons but those were the main ones.”

Tough scene.

Last season, even this season, OU beats them 9 out of 10 times.

The competition they face is undoubtably better though.

Indiana is the only school in FBS with 0 bowl wins this century.
Good luck, Kid!

Please don't drink or indulgence with other substances prior to posting. The probability we beat IU 90 percent of the time is near nil. Yeah, they were 3-9 with 5 losses < 10 points. Again, THINK before you post.

You again? Haven’t you been embarrassed enough? Once you’re done screaming into the sky, read the post again.

They beat Akron this season by 2 points. In 4 OT.

Some of their big wins last season include Idaho and Western Kentucky, in OT.

Cry harder.

I'm honestly surprised by his decision. Got to think a cash offer was involved because it seems like he was pretty quick to commit to a program of this caliber. It looked like offers were rolling in, although not from any decent P5 schools but I figured he would hold out a little longer for a better offer.

Not sure how this is going to affect his NFL aspirations. Getting destroyed by a few of the big boys certainly isn't going to help. Got to wonder if balling out against the Northwestern's of the big 10 is much better than running it back in Athens and taking another POTY.
