Way back in 1967 Ohio was behind Oxford Tech in the MAC standings and toward the end of the season it was discovered that Kent State had used an ineligible player in its victory over Ohio. The Bobcat's loss to KSU was changed to a win, and a score of 1-0 was entered in the record book. As a result Ohio tied for the championship with Toledo, as Miami had sustained another loss late in the season. But when the forfeit was announced, Miami was still in the running for the MACC, which evoked the now famous quote from Bo Schembechler, “They can play football in Athens until Hell freezes over, and they still won't deserve the championship!” (from memory but very close to the actual quote)

Well, with all due respect to the late Coach Schembechler, hell has now officially frozen over as your Alma Mater has lost decisively to OHIO, 38-3 in the MAC Championship game!

Miami put the curse on, and only Miami could break it, apparently. Now it's broken.

Guess we finally got enough of those three-star athletics in the portal!

Bobcat Fans and Syrian civilians have waited 50 years and now celebrate on the same day!

And to think it happened on December 7th! So much history!

We shouldn't lose sight of celebrating the MAC title. Coaches will come and go but that one will stay on the record books!

But--and I'm not questioning the accuracy of your quote--we won the conference in 1968

We tied in 1967 with Toledo. I know that it’s impossible to comprehend but OHIO won MACCs two years in a row — 1967 Co-Champs, 1968, Outright Champs.

I’m sorry that you are offended that I forgot to mention my very clear recollection of the time you ran across the field nude with only your Ohio ball cap on.

At halftime of the b-ball game I looked out in our front yard and saw a dead deer. I didn't notice it earlier in the day. I assume it heard we had won the MACCG and died of a heart attack. Maybe it was a MOFO fan.
