Although Navy also is in the AAC, Army-Navy game will be a non-conference game each year, still played on the second Saturday of December: https://fbschedules.com/army-to-join-american-athletic-co... /
This affects only two MAC schools as Army has games scheduled at BSU next season and vs Buffalo in 2026, 2027 and 2033. With Navy and Air Force on their schedule every year, they'll have only two openings to fill each season. They had scheduled at least six games every year through 2033, so teams will be scrambling to fill vacancies. It also leaves only three independent teams in the subdivision: Notre Dame, UMass and UConn.
