Kudos to Cromer for doing due dilligence and not taking the easy way out. That said, Tettleton would be a horrific choice. Has anyone watched the regression of Trevor Lawrence or Travis Etienne lately? Speaking of quitting - he also quit on us at UB his final year. That was a tough watch. Our last experience with hiring a former player (a quarterback also) was a total disaster. I very much doubt Tettleton's a serious candidate, but no reason not to make the connection and hear his vision. And who knows, maybe he could end up on the staff of the ultimate hire.
