Anyone receive an invitation or other notification of today's (10:30 am) reception for Coach Hauser? Wouldn't it make sense to invite season ticket holders, OBC members?

It was a small affair. Very nice and good to meet the coach.

Not like I’ve never met Coach Hauser, but you are correct KG, was good to be there, welcome him and congratulate him on this opportunity.

It was a great experience talking to him. Told him I felt like we have talked before since I sit right behind the Defensive bench. He said oh no I probably said things I should not have... Funny guy too. I'm excited!

So what was the criteria to be invited? Just curious.

Former Green and White Club officers got an invitation.

Couldn't resist although I bet Lou was there.

I heard he wasn't invited, per usual protocol.

I really think it was meant to be a small affair and not as bid as they were in the past with everything that has gone on. It had to be the quickest one I have ever been to. It was over quickly.

He mentioned they didn't even tell the players lol Could've been a joke, but I think with everything going on they just wanted to get it out there, get it out of the way and get to work on the portal.

Then why do it at all?

Typical Athens-centric strategy. Playing small-ball as always. Amazing anyone outside 45701 donates to this department.

Maybe stuff like this is why they’ve never announced the BIG GIFT? Folks tired of being left out?

And on that note, a little diddy I "wrote" about the beer tab and other related things. Enjoy. That's oldkatz on guitar.

If nothing is announced by mid-Februrary, you'll hear it first here.

Sadly yes but the legacy lives on with the scholarship we funded for students who volunteer and work behind the scenes in the athletics department. We're now about to year 11 or 12 of awarding the scholarship.

And OCF still hasn't bought a round.

It's kind of scary. I stumbled on AI song writing when I saw a post from a high school friend who showed a sad cowboy whose self-driving pickup drove off and left him. I had only played with ChatGPT a few times when I got stuck writing fund raising letters and needed an idea.

So I went into Chat, said write the lyrics to a song about a cowboy whose self-driving truck drove off with a self-driving semi. I found the Mureka app, dropped the lyrics into it, gave it a few prompts like male voice and country twang and in a matter of seconds had this song.

The funny thing is I sent it to my son in Austin and my wife who was down there at the time, and their response was "we need to go see this guy, who is it?

Nope. That's the year the Green and White Club was founded.

He's talking about the "modern" GWC. There was another Green & White Club back in the 1920s. I don't know much about this club, but my father told me about it, and it was actually before his time at OHIO. He joined the faculty circa 1937. However, Dad was told about it by older faculty members. John Galbreath (Class of 1922) was involved in starting it.
