Very impressive company to be in regardless of G5 conference affiliation and recent non-conference schedules. Ohio probably deserves more love as a consistently good G5 program across the country than what they probably get.

This year will show us if it's sustainable and if we can keep it going with our 2nd head coach since Frank Solich retired.

So satisfying to read this knowing that the Cats also have a MAC Championship in the case to go along with this great run of success. No more "yeah, but..." arguments when describing the overall health and strength of the football program.

Now that we've won the MACC, I sometimes wonder WWMD?

Hard to believe we were able to achieve such results with a female ad and her numerous blunders.

This success the last three years was not because of the female AD! You and I know the reason this program was successful. Don't be afraid to tell the truth. Albin was Frank's hand picked successor. How did he do? We all know the answer to that question. You seem to like Frank. Call him and ask him why the coach he suggested to be his successor is now gone? Go ahead. Ask him? Yet you and others are applauding the AD for her outstanding job of making the mens hoop coach the top paid guy for his yearly fifth seeds. And slap her on the back for the great secret renewal for the womens BB coach. Go ahead and keep giving this AD a hall pass!

He is gone for one simple reason. He CHOSE to leave while still employed by Ohio University. The FACT he CHOSE to NOT see what Ohio was going to offer AFTER the completion of the season is both bizarre and stupid in my opinion. He had 3 good years and CHOOSES to leave before new offer is made by the AD. Blaming our AD for Albin's decision is both illogical, and infantile.

Although it is possible Charlotte may have better veterinarians there than Athens has to deal with sick dogs.

Guessing you and others who continue to make jokes about "sick dogs", don't have a dog or a pet? I guess you failed to see the yearly "Pups at Peden and Cats feeding Dogs" promo that Albin and his wife did the last few seasons. I guess you didn't appreciate that this family paid for tickets for any person bringing in food/treats for pets for those games? If making fun of sick dogs makes you feel better, go for it! And no, I'm not related to Coach Albin. I just recognize a great coach and good person who gave 20 seasons of his life to Ohio University. The fact is that the current AD failed to appreciate the football coach. If this were Boals, most of you would have been protesting and demanding that the AD be released! The mens BB coach annually ends up 5th/3rd seed and yet the administration makes him the highest paid coach in the league. The womens coach has been worse than terrible the last four years and the AD secretly renews the contract. No winning record and two six win seasons. Yet this AD, couldn't see fit to reward and appreciate the most successful football coach in the conference the last four seasons. She knew that Albin had a generous offer by Rice before the Ball St game and turned it down. The administration knew that other schools were interviewing Albin. This AD had several days right after the Ball St game to complete a deal. The AD flat out refused to do so. If the AD tells you the truth, she will admit a gigantic mistake was made. I doubt that she will admit making an error. If you want to compliment the AD for these blunders, so be it. Take out the huge slip up with the football program. Why are you giving this administration a pass for the secret renewal of the womens BB coach? Why are you giving this AD a pass for rewarding the mens hoops coach as the top paid coach in the league for annual fifth/3rd seed records? Why are you giving this AD a pass for allowing the mens hoop program to play zero power four programs compared to the football program playing 50-75% of non league games vs power four schools? I'm not even going to mention the baseball coach the AD hired and was released a few weeks ago. I'm waiting for your excuses for those blunders.

How are you still doing this, man. He got an extension after losing the MACC. Why are you so angry Tim didn’t get an extension during the season 10 months later? He has an agent, ever put any blame on him?

Call up your friend Timmy. I’m sure he’ll tell you these posts aren’t worth it. It’s just sad.

While your commitment to this bit does provide for a lot of laughter around here, HE left. They didn't fire him. You do realize that, correct? HE had a contract. HE chose not to wait for his 2nd extension in less than 12 months. HE accepted a new job before the championship game. HE chose not to tell his team. HE made up an excuse to not have to face them. HE bet against himself.

Very few coaches followed him. Very few players followed him.

You and I both know the reason.

Give it up man. Nobody likes shitting on Tim. He's a fine gentleman, but again HE left. And NOBODY followed. Go ahead and keep giving TA a hall pass for his blunders.

I disagree with you ChiCat. Tim is a good coach and I wish that he was still here. However, he did choose to leave so we have to move on.

I wish that we had the staff that he took with him. I don't know anything but with the results all I can assume is that we had a fantastic staff.

Holy shit, is this a Kurt Mattix stan account? Somehow I think we will survive without the LB coach and the DE coach. 80% of the staff is intact.

Absolutely. Tim did great things, brought us the long awaited MAC title, but it was clear he was ready to leave Athens after 20 years. It's ok to feel positively about his tenure, but commentary about him overplaying his hand and his handling of the situation is fair game.

I don't know if we'll be as good as last year, but why not? The coaches obviously believe in the culture and the opportunity here. And yes, that is combined with Charlotte not exactly being a next destination with any sex appeal. Many factors helped us keep key players on staff and on the field.
