Are there any Bobcats who have a chance to hear their name called by an NFL team this weekend? I'll also be watching to see if Kurtis gets drafted. As an OHIO alum, I'll be counting that as a Bobcat draft pick if it happens.

I would be surprised if anyone is drafted, but it seems Parodie put his best foot forward and maybe some scout somewhere will put in a good word for Tyus.

It was great to see that Kurtis was at the spring game. I hope he does a lot to make sure Ohio gets credit for his success ie if he were to start on MNF does he introduce himself as from Indiana AND Ohio.

Would be shocked if Kurtis doesn’t get drafted.

Think Tyus or Parodie have a chance at a 7th round pick.

I'm particularly high on Tyus. One of the best RBs I've ever seen in person.

Think I saw a video from spring ball that showed Kurtis hanging out on the field. I think he considers himself a Bobcat IMO.

Nice to see a few MAC guys drafted early in Fannin from BG and Darius Alexander from Toledo.

Been a while since an OU player was drafted. Without looking, Mike Mitchell and Taylor Price stand out, and of course Zastudil. Usually we do get a few guys onto teams minicamp on a tryout basis though.

You have to think that Kurtis’s injury history can’t help him. Should get some looks at least in some camps.

TJ Carrie was a 7th rounder and played 5 years or so in the NFL. One of my all time favorite Bobcats.
I’m guessing at least 4-5 get free agent deals.

TJ is one of my all-time favorite OHIO players also. Not only was he an excellent, team-oriented player. He has also been a loyal Bobcat post-graduation.

TJ actually played 9, 2014-2022.

With the amount of QB’s left I no longer feel too good for Kurtis, but he’ll be just fine. He’ll get a shot in camp and if nothing else, he’ll go make very good money in the CFL and have the highest viewed games in Canada when he plays his brother/the only other Canadian QB in that league.

Welp, congrats to Kurtis - mid-7th round to San Francisco. Seems like a good landing spot for him to compete for a spot if he’s healthy.

Late-round picks seem to do well there, and injuries crop up there as well. I'm surprised he was picked after a couple of other QBS who seemed to be less impressive.

great practice squad opportunity. coming off knee surgery it’s pretty good spot for him. they will carry two qbs on weekly roster. zero chance of being the backup. but is a good offense for him to learn and be in.

yes, well deserved Kurtis! I find myself pondering during Draft time , how a team like Ohio can win a league championship at a (non P5) conference, and not get a player drafted in the first 300 players or so.. I'm well aware of NIL, lack there of and portal. What I appreciate about this program is, we accomplished something we have never had in my lifetime.. I know these are more individual accomplishments. I do believe Ohio will have some fellas make a squad or 2

Coleman Owen signed as UDFA with the Colts, Tyus signed with the Lions, Parodie signed with the Buccaneers, Heidecker invited to the Falcons rookie minicamp.

Congrats to all these players, and I hope they do well. Tyus, in particular, is proof that being a feature player at Ohio will garner more attention than being a P4 backup.

I’ve been thinking about this, and I think Kurtis has a decent shot at the 53-man roster with the new emergency 3rd QB-rule. If he’s healthy I think he can beat out Mordecai, who San Fran picked up as an UDFA and stashed on their practice squad all of last year. Kurtis is a year younger as well.

"We took him with the understanding he likely won’t be cleared until training camp, but we just felt like there was a lot of talent and ability." - GM John Lynch

"I think he would have gone a lot higher if he was healthy... Loved his size, loved how he throws, loved how he played the position. Watching them this year, I don't think it was a coincidence how good a year they had with the type of quarterback they had." - Shanahan

"Love his vision, love the way he plays the game, he plays quarterback at a high level," Ahmad said. "He throws on time, he throws with vision, he's got all the ability to make every single throw in the pocket. There's a lot to like about him." - Director of PP, Tariq Ahmad

Also, it will be good to have him so close to his brother again. 2 hour flight to Vancouver.
