Barrett Benson from Northwestern might be attainable. 6-10 and in the rotation with the Wildcats, but not big numbers. Maybe looking for an opportunity for more playing time?

Looking at the profiles of some of the upper class men on the list, they were coming out of HS in 2015 when Boals was still an assistant at OSU. Would make sense Boals might have recruited some of these high major guys then and have a relationship with them (along with anyone he recruited at Stoney Brook obviously)

I've seen crazier things happen.

LOOK--#25 of those who must sit out a year--will make some on here head's explode! 700 departures and TK makes the nifty 50!

Hope he can go to a team that has a great PG and another guard who knocks down the three at a high percentage. Then TK slashing and picking up offensive rebounds, will find himself in a nice situation. I also hope that he will have some good memories of his time in Athens.

The narrative of Saul not recruiting talent is a myth. He brought in some players to Athens, including TK.

Speaking of TK, any chance he is still considering a return to Ohio? Entering the TP isn’t final...

I don't think it's a myth that Saul did not bring in enough quantity of quality players to keep his job beyond 5 years.

I expect that the transfer market action will heat up now that teams know for sure who they got on signing day.

Slightly OT, does anybody have any good links to recruiting sites that are up to date? I'm striking out searching for info on who signed where. I expected more splash on ESPN, etc. Interested in recruits we offered and missed, and also what the rest of the MAC did.

Sadly, it seems to me that ESPN has become very much useless when it comes to actual college basketball content short of a TV broadcast.

I agree. He just couldn't adjust his offense to fit the talent. I still think Jim Christian would have won 20+ this year with these guys and I can guarantee TK would not have been challenging for the national lead in turnovers.

I'm not going to post a list, but the cases of Saul settling for "low hanging fruit" in recruiting is well documented previously on this forum. So far, the Boals model of recruiting seems to be the exact opposite.

We had 5-6 less than average ball players going into next year, saul’s Recruiting was terrible, had butler and Garrett stayed it would have been 8. Saul is a nice guy and an ok coach at best. He Has not implemented anything to give us a competitive advantage.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

We had 5-6 nothing burgers going into next year, saul’s Recruiting was terrible, had butler and Garrett stayed it would have been 8. Saul is a nice guy and an ok coach at best. He Has not implemented anything to give us a competitive advantage.

I agree...I think Saul was just a classic miss as a hire. He did not know how to recruit in our region and he had trouble developing the guys he did bring in. If you even look at NDSU he had 3 very good years but not sustained success as he usually followed good with bad. I wish him well but I think Boals will return us to prominence sooner than later. If Jordy is half the player he was and we get 1 or 2 grad or JUCO guys to add to our wings we will compete NEXT YEAR. Send it in Jerome!

You're really quite the supporter of our program, calling players wearing the shirt of Ohio a "nothing burger". Talk about a mediocre fan and alumnus. You can do better than this man. A lot better.

You're being something else besides "honest" in this case. You're being a mediocre human, alumnus, and fan. Sad look for you man.

But please, finish your next reply with a classic "Go Cats", because that always makes saying stuff like this okay to you doesn't it? 🙄
