ATHENS, Ohio— The Ohio baseball program released their 2023 schedule today (Dec. 5), as announced by head coach Craig Moore. The Bobcats will play 50 games, including 30 Mid-American Conference matchups.

"We are excited to announce this schedule that includes several games against Power Five schools, as well as programs that finished in the top ends of their leagues last spring," said Moore. "The non-conference schedule might be the most competitive schedule that we have put together in my time here. These opportunities against those programs will put us in a position to prepare for another competitive regular season MAC schedule."

The Bobcats are set to play five games against Power Five schools, with one game against Virginia and Kentucky as well as a three-game series against Indiana. Notably, the 2023 season will bring back a three-game MAC series format, moving on from the four-game weekend series with doubleheaders on Saturdays. This allows for more midweek non-conference games than there were in 2022.

Ohio starts off their season in Wilmington, N.C. as they compete in the Hughes Bros. Baseball Challenge (Feb. 17-19) alongside UNC Wilmington, Virginia, and the Navy. The Bobcats follow up the tournament with a trip to Bowling Green, Kentucky as they take on Western Kentucky in a four-game series (Feb. 24-26). Ohio wraps up their stretch of road games in Lexington for one game against Kentucky (March 5).

The Bobcats' open the home portion of the schedule and conference play at Bob Wren Stadium against Bowling Green (March 10-12). They'll continue the stretch of home games against Central Michigan the following weekend (March 17-19).

Ohio has a midweek game on the road against Morehead State (March 21-22) before continuing conference play in Dekalb, Ill. against Northern Illinois (March 24-26). They return to Bob Wren to take on Eastern Michigan (March 31-April 2) and Morehead State (March 21). The MACtion continues for Ohio as they head to Toledo for a three-game series (April 7-9) before returning to Athens to host Marshall (April 11).

The Battle of the Bricks is coming to Bob Wren this year, with the Bobcats hosting rival Miami (April 14-16). Next, Ohio travels to take on Indiana (April 21-23) before returning home for a game against Shawnee State (April 25). The Bobcats close out April with a three-game series against Kent State in Kent, Ohio (April 28-30).

Ohio will close out the season with one non-conference game and two conference games, starting at Marshall (May 9), followed by Western Michigan (May 12-14), and concluding at Akron (May 18-20).

The 2023 MAC tournament will be from May 24-27; the regular-season champion will host.
