Tough weekend, UTSA and Oklahoma are pretty good. If we can win two out of three, and play competitive in all our matches it will be a good weekend.

Ladies sweep winless Lamar in first round match. Take on the other OU tonight.

Go OHIO

p.s. They can have OU, I'll take OHIO.

Tough start to the season, some uneducated and probably controversial observations:

1)Our serving errors are killing us, they often come at crucial times and pump up the opposition.

2)Two straight weekends in which we had a match where we couldn't close the deal. Two crucial games, in two matches, in which we had 24 and the opposition, NC Wilmington and UTSA, had at the most 22, and we lost. I found it annoying when reading on Ohiobobcat.com that no one seemed upset and angry about this. This program has quite a tradition, this is becoming a bad habit that is disappointing.

3) After losing the aforementioned games in #2 we quit for the rest of the match. Young team, but it needs to learn to deal with adversity without rolling over and playing dead.

4)Timeout, just an observation from game 1 of the Oklahoma match. I believe we were behind 10-12, we then had a serving error (see comment #1). From 10-12 we lost the next 5 points before a time out was called. Down 17-10 to a very good Oklahoma team in Norman, our chances of winning at this point are about the same as me winning the power ball. Why not call a time out earlier, even at 15-10 you win a couple of points and your back in the match.

5)In hindsight, would it have been smart to give Stephanie Olman more playing time last year? Abby G. was great, but pulling Abby once in a while to have given Stephanie some experience last year might have really helped her this year.

6) Get the ball to Ali more! When the going gets tough we get predictable, and easier to defend. By at least a two to one margin it goes to the left outside hitter.

7) The team does have talent, and hopefully keeps getting better. Good luck next weekend. Hope you win the tournament.

Can anyone tell me why the University of Oklahoma goes by OU and not UO?

Because the weather out in that part of the country leads Dyslexia:

University of Kansas = KU
University of Colorado = CU (now in Pac12)
