Of all the addle-brained, controversial, baseless posts you've made, this is, by far, the most infuriating, especially coming from someone who was in the military service with me. GO ARMY!!!!!

Army Navy IS the end of football season, not the beginning! And Citdel is not a military Academy its rather a military college, there is a difference and not the same. Not to mention that Air Force is FBS and The Citadel is FCS. There are 5 other military colleges, that Citadel could play. But Army v Navy is right where it belongs, as the showcase. Traditional this is the ONLY college game today and deservedly shares no headlines. Yet another covid causality.

Of the Military colleges that would deserve the elevation would be VMI. VMI is the ONLY military college that enrolls nothing but cadets, no civilian students.

I know exactly when its played. And I'm entitled to feel the way I want. Nothing wrong with having military week to kickoff College Football Season.

Citadel has played better FBS teams than Air Force before. And if that doesn't suit you well....put VMI against Citadel.

And its a great opportunity to showcase these institutions and the differences between them.

Well EXCat, let’s ignore the fact that it’s been the last game of the season for close to 100 years, nothing like tossing away tradition because “you” want to. And yes Citadel has played better FBS teams then Air Force, it’s called money games, just like OhIO plays every few years. The funding models are drastically different of the schools as well as the resources allocated to football and all other sports. VMI and Citadel (excellent institutions) can not compete with Army and Navy on a year in and year out basis. Which is why the Citadel has played Air Force only 4 times and none since 1997. Air Force’s only loss goes back to 1976 the pre Fisher DeBerry days in Colorado Springs.

Air Force has played VMI once and that was a 62-0 thriller!

But more importantly, as a player, do you want to play your biggest rivalry week one? As fans who wants to see the big rival game week one? I have no other questions!

Sadly, yesterday's game was ruined by the appearance of the current occupant. Not sure what the purpose of "military week" would be. The militarization of sports has gotten out of hand as it is.

Noits called an opinion, and in 80+ million votes, a pretty good one.

There was an article in The Record yesterday about the game.

It didn't go into that much detail as to why.

But, apparently last year's lost to Navy,"stung" Army more then usual.

The article said they've had this year's game as their top priority
ever since.

I think the fact that it was at Michie Stadium didn't hurt.
