I posted about my strong feelings about Henry Kissinger and the evil that he did. As of this morning no one had even responded to it. Now, this afternoon, I find that it has been deleted. Is this not an "acceptable opinion" on BA? If so, I'm out of here. You've allowed all kinds of crazy stuff to stand over the years, including almost weekly slams against Republicans that are sometimes downright nasty, but an opinion that Henry Kissinger was a war criminal is "prohibited speech"? In the words of Chuck Landon, this is totally unacceptable. You can run your site anyway you want it, but I can also decide to opt out, to the great delight of my fan club.

For what it's worth, for a solid 3 or 4 months now the mods have been very clear about enforcing the policy around no political posts. There have been a half-dozen overtly political posts that have similarly disappeared.

I don't think it's anything unique to the subject matter, you, and I don't think the mods have shown any sort of political bias in their actions recently.

BLSS: Just look at the statements in the YSU prez thread. If many of these aren't political, I'm a Martian.

Of course they're political. But the mods are human and maybe they just missed it, and don't realize what's being discussed. Much easier for a thread about Youngstown State to fly under the radar than one with a title about Henry Kissinger.

The mods here do a good job. They've been consistent about this for months now. But if you want to play victim here, which you seem to want to do, I'm not gonna stop you.

I deleted your thread. Please read our posting policy. No doubt there is a grey area in all this. I try to allow threads remain thet have some element of value to the discussion of Ohio University Athletics or even Ohio University. I'm not sure what the burning need is to discuss politics here. I've made this offer before. Set up your own message board (and there are platforms that will easily do this) and I will link to it. Otherwise, I don't want to waste my time reading/moderating posts from five-year-olds. Which is what political discussions devolve into. You did/I didn't, you did/I didn't. I did my time parenting five-year-olds.

Hey OCF - we both were deleted. No YSU thread either. I guess I must have missed the posts that were so bad. What's sad is that the growing belief in the inability to have a conversation about anything deemed political. With the dearth of media coverage of local issues and the growing number of uncontested races at least in Athens County, there is no meaningful political discussion any longer. I for one don't want to go on some random site to discuss issues with folks from Venus and Mars. That said, I also don't own this site or monitor it. Therefore, I'm limiting my comment to the very specific. As a part time development officer for Muskingum University, if we were to make such a hire I'd be headed to the first tee tomorrow.

Remember that time Kissinger was in time for a speech or something and went to see a Clash cover band at The Union and got so hammered he couldn't appear at the UN later?
