Gotta say it was cool to point at the guy on TV holding his helmet above his head after that game winning field goal and tell my young kids he went to the same schools as they will.

Is it just me or do announcers and tv talking heads seem to really like Burrow?

What’s not to like, the young man carries himself very well and with lots of composure.

Agreed. But I'm looking forward to him becoming more comfortable in post-game interviews and giving us more than the usual sports cliches.

I know its not likely, but,if LSU keeps playing the way they have been,it would be interesting to see an LSU-OSU playoff or bowl game.

LSU has to get better offensively, to be where they are right now is a great start, but long term their lack of play makers in the receiving corp will bite them.

That would really be something. I'd be rooting for the kid. Athens deserves a little exposure every now and then...

I hope that the Joe Burrow media train continues. It has been good for Athens to get some well-deserved attention. As an Athens High Graduate, it is nice to see the Bulldogs finally getting some National Attention too. It seems that being an Athens Native has always meant being in the shadow of Ohio University, but that is only part of what it was like to grow up in Athens. The Athens Historical Society recently put out a nice book by the name of "Growing Up in Athens." Usually, the only props that Athens gets is due to its rumored paranormal occurrences and Ohio's consistent ranking as a party school.

If any of the curmudgeon's on this board were subscribers to the Athens Messenger they probably cancelled their subscriptions this morning after seeing an above the fold article on Urban Meyer and a front page sports feature on Burrow and LSU. ;-)

Depends on the tone of the article on Urban. He deserves all the heat and negative pub he's getting nationally.

Was not a negative article and contained no heat.

Here's nice article from NO Times Picayune on Burrow's home town.
