Alden Library has 1 floor open (2nd) and next week it will add the 4th floor to have 2. Books are pulled by the staff for a self serve pick up n the 2nd floor. Baker is open, not sure what all is open in Baker. The rest I'm unsure of.

The golf course opened on the 10th and started letting carts out on the 24th. No paper scorecards though.

My wife has been doing lap swimming almost daily at the Aquatic Center since they reopened. Prior this opening she had been going out to Dow Lake. Much prefers the university facility.

That has got to be the dumbest thing i have ever heard. Someone (maybe multiple someone’s) should be fired for a decision as stupid as that.

At some point, there needs to be some common sense applied to this. You're not going to breathe the virus off a scorecard. You're not going to lick the scorecard unless you're really odd. There's nearly no risk. I played golf in NC two weeks ago, and we had "real" scorecards, and we're all still here.

I would imagine they are following Battelle guidelines like we are at the library. They are having us quarantine everything after people touch it. We all received guidelines pertaining to the items we and our public touch and use.

That is no excuse. Paper score cards (and the free mini-pencils) are, by their nature, disposable. Someone should be made an example of.

Just bring your own paper and pencil or don't golf.

That’s actually somewhat common right now, and in interscholastic golf, you keep your own score and do not sign cards.

Better yet, join the 21st century and download one of the hundreds of free apps that do GPS and keep score. Haven’t used a paper score card in years.

Haha, i don’t golf. I still maintain that “the Covid” is a mind numbingly stupid reason not to provide disposable paper scorecards. If you’re not offering them for budget reasons say so, but don’t blame it on bulls**t Covid-safety theatre

Maybe they can't use paper scorecards because all paper is being diverted to toilet paper and Kleenex. :)

That’s a far better explanation than COVID safety theater!
I also would have accepted “Jenny Hall Jones says that score cards are a form of hazing”

So here's the kicker. You still have to get a paper parking pass from the clubhouse that they fill out and hand you. We played 5 times last week and they gave us 5 parking passes.

I'm a traditionalist. Last thing I want to see is a guy pulling out his cell phone on the golf course.

UT Doug would tell you that a traditionalist wouldn't be caught dead on the Ohio University golf course.

Is that why you still use persimmon woods?

UT Doug has options. We in Athens County don't unless we want to drive an hour. When's the last time he played OU? Prior to August 10th this year, it was in very good shape.

Actually I still have my dad's 1950 Wilson Sam Snead woods - 1- 4.

Last time, and I think only time, was summer of 1997, a weekend bachelor party in Athens. I think it was the same weekend SBH broke his ulna bone playing football in the hotel parking lot.
