Even at D3 the coaches get antsy in their pantsy.

Trine won the D3 national championship in 2024. Nice private university in northeast Indiana.

I hate to see Coach Vanderwal leave Marietta.

I've seen Trine play in person a few times in recent years. They've been good for awhile. Their previous coach just accepted an assistants position at Central Michigan.

To give you an idea of how Trine views athletics, Bob Knight was their commencement speaker a number of years ago.

It's semantics, but he received an Associate Head Coach gig at CMU. Not too shabby for a D3 coach.

Nope, not too shabby at all. Because it’s hard to move from the DIII to DI level, even with success.

So, is that a step up? Don't know much about Heidelberg basketball. Once back in the day, I saw a football game at Heidleberg.

If you want to know why Vanderwal is no longer coaching at MC, ask around. The truth is he got the shaft from the current President. Ask people in the know and you will get the truth.

Great facilities there.

I’ve actually not heard of Trine( I must not get around much), but looking it up 40% of their students major in engineering and they have an endowment of 132million- bigger than some MAC schools. Pretty impressive and the gym does look great, was opened in 2024 and seats 3,500.

Trine used to be called Tri-State University. They really uped their game with new arenas. They even have a ice hockey team with a new arena that seats a couple thousand.

SBH and others- do some investigating. You doubt what I'm saying, but if you dig further you will find out the reason why Vanderwal is no longer in Marietta. I can't do all the work for you. Many of you rip on people who make comments about certain topics on this board. There are some on this website who contribute, but yet you tear them apart for their remarks. Quit being lazy and do some research yourself and you will get answers.

You claim you contribute to BA, yet all you do is tell the rest of us to do some research and quit being lazy. I don't consider that contributing to this site. Contributing to this site is giving the rest of us some specifics. If, in fact, you have actual facts and background knowledge.

Do some research... where? How?
